Retablo

A fun project for the painting workshop I am conducting for Bambi Manosa's CreativeKids summer workshop in Ayala Alabang. This project utilizes a mounted canvas and canvas sheets, acrylic paints, and glitter glue. There are 8 kids participating in this session and their outputs I will feature together with their other works on their exhibit date in May.

The retablo (cabinet) is a favorite subject for some contemporary artists because it addresses several concerns: revered object (retablos are known to house sacred images, important objects, etc.), multi-media platform to expound on social issues, aesthetic delight and artistic challenge (it is fun and exciting to explore design concepts and artistry in a simple box!)

The Creative Kids studio of Bambi will now be housed at the Alabang Town Center soon. For more information on her fun workshops for kids and adults, events planning, design consultancies, etc. please contact them at creativekidsart@gmail.com
