Flower Painting
Little girls love drawing and painting flowers because the delicate and floral design challenges their imagination. On this session, the idea is to capture the design of a flower painting found in their room (photo above) and translate using their imagination!
For this session, we are using watercolor pencils to draw so it can also be painted! Then we used watercolor for the background and acrylic paints to create textures (impasto):
and later to use glitter glue or sequins and beads to decorate!
And in an hour, the finished work (sans glitter and beads):
Chiara, age 5
Caryn, age 7
Chantrice, age 12
I sometimes use black pencils to demonstrate while the kids follow so they can choose the colors that they wanted for the flowers!
