April 6 to 10, 2013
Ground Floor Gallery, Ayala Museum, Makati City
A major highlight of the 25th anniversary of the Consuelo Foundation that gathers the artworks of children and young adults from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and Metro Manila. The artworks were done by the children in one day as facilitated by the Creative Kids studio of Bambi Manosa (I was part of the team!) and the output included large-scale collaborative works on canvas, felt cloth, felt sheets, papier-mache, banig (local mat) and on paper interpreting elements found in the regions where the children are based and where the workshops were held.
The children from Mindanao individually made these school of fish which were assembled into a mural.
From the Visayas were giant lanterns (this one was displayed flat on the wall) carrying the theme of Sinulog and street festivals in Cebu. Each canvas strip was done by a child and assembled to create this 5' x 15' work!
From Luzon are giant flowers painted on canvas using acrylic paints and assembled into a 5' x 15' artwork! The challenged is to make the children draw and paint in less than an hour to produce works for this exhibition.
Updated: The exhibit is extended until April 18.
Open to the Public. Free admission to this exhibit.
Note: Ayala Museum is closed on Mondays.
