My 7 year old student in my painting session wanted to paint a beautiful illustration from the Bible. I immediately said yes! Capturing an actual image or those copied from books or thru the internet is an exciting challenge for those learning to draw and paint. More so for children. There is a huge mathematical consideration for capturing an image and the child has to be able to hone her ability to observe proportions, perspective, and various degrees of color blending! This may be the reason why art as a whole brain activity help children understand math better.
This painting used acrylic paints on canvas board and was completed in an hour in my workshop.
