The parol is the Christmas lantern in the Philippines that symbolized the guiding star of the Nativity.
For my 10 year old workshop student, who is a foreigner, the parol is an excellent way to impart our local culture and Christmas traditions and do the dry and wet techniques of drawing and painting in an hour!
