The Toddlers group (pre-school age) are both exciting and challenging sessions. Each young, restless minds and hands are working only on 10-15 minute attention span which must be engaged for an hour to make them follow instructions, learn and do the exercises, and make it fun enough to finish one plate! For years, I have designed and implemented modules that can make kids as young as 3-4 execute a drawing and paint it in an hour. From this study came the challenge to make 8-10 year old kids execute more complicated visual exercises (shapes on shapes, textures on textures, mixed media, etc.) and learn to manipulate the materials to express their visual voices! Their visual stories are as enchanting as the process of production. And I have the best seat all the time!
Art, the creative spirit inherent in each of us, must always find that space and time to be expressed.
