MOVIEMOV is a concept and collaboration between Italian film festival organizers Asiatica (Festival of Asian Movies) and Playtown (Rome Film Festival), the embassy of Italy, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and the Philippine Italian Association (PIA). The event is also part of the 11th Edition of the Week of the Italian language "Buon Compleanno Italia" (Happy Birthday Italy) and the year-long celebration of the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy.
The festival will open on November 9 with the premiere screenings of Italian films Habemus Papam by Nanni Moretti and Dracula 3D by Dario Argento. The Filipino director Brillante Mendoza will be honored with the screening of his film Serbis.
The film festival will run for FREE from November 10 to 13 at the Greenbelt theaters in Makati. Fourteen Italian films (7 contemporary films, 4 retrospective films by Bernardo Bertolucci, and 3 films by dario Argento, a master of horror/thriller films) with English subtitles will be shown!
