Inspired by Pierre Auguste Renoir's Sleeping Cat painting. This session with siblings Josh (age 11) and Yani (age 9) facilitated at the CreativeKids studio for less than 2 hours utilized acrylic paints and canvas sheets and made lively with stories from cats to cat movies to Renoir to cat jokes. Workshop sessions are always fun and educational!
Renoir (1841-1919), of the leading artists of the Impressionist style, painted The Sleeping Cat in 1862, capturing the cat in oil long before the advent of digital cameras. Children laughed about this because now I try to capture my dogs in their fun candid moments using my small compact camera!
It is fun to revisit works of master artists and to get to understand their world through their art!
