Doing Nunelucio!

My late friend Bobi Valenzuela would be proud to see this! For my Mixed Media workshop at CreativeKids, I made kids interpret filipino artists!

. . . and Nunelucio's work is a good exercise in introducing facial drawings and understanding symbols and images that artists incorporate in their works. To portray Nunelucio's hacienda worker's face and understand the artist's sentiment as he captured the plight of workers in his painting made children understand the need to know artworks beyond the aesthetic appeal.

Girl Boutique

A fun project for kids especially for little girls who love fashion. This session was done with several girls ages 3 to 9 to draw and create their own Girl Boutique and design the things to sell in their shop. A fun and challenging way for girls to unleash their creativity. Below is their amazing design of their shopping bags! Merchandisers and designers watch out! I can surely find several items to buy from these creative girls stores and stash my loot in such gorgeous bags!

So what do you think girls love to sell and buy in stores?

Trinkets, t-shirts with cool designs, colorful jeans, cool handbags, letters (yes, some of them laughed when I asked about it but hey, I will buy a letter L anytime!), mosquito patch with cool designs, butterfly clip, fun rings, more fun earrings, a cat (well, I would buy a cat lounging in a shop as well ;-)), a crown, and many more cool items which you don't really find in a regular 'cool' store!
